Director of the Department of Research Infrastructures at the Swedish Research Council
Sofie Björling is Director of the Department of Research Infrastructures at the Swedish Research Council since 2015. The department is responsible for the tasks of being mandated organisation to EOSC; coordinating the national work with open access to research data; improving the accessibility to register-based data; developing an advisory function for better utilisation of health data; supporting and developing the conditions for clinical studies; administrating the funding of research infrastructures and representing Sweden in the governing bodies of international research infrastructures. Sofie has a PhD in Biophysics and has previously worked at the Swedish Research Council Formas and as a Scientific Attaché in Washington DC.
