President of Stockholm University
Professor Astrid Söderbergh Widding has been the President of Stockholm University since 2013. She has a background in Cinema Studies at Stockholm University, where she obtained her PhD in 1992. She was appointed Professor in Cinema Studies in 2000 and has held positions as Head of Department, Deputy Dean and Deputy President. In 2009 she initiated the OA Journal of Aesthetics and Culture, for which she was Editor-in-Chief. Astrid Söderbergh Widding is a fellow of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences and the Royal Swedish Academy of Letters, History and Antiquities. She is Chair of the Bibsam consortium since 2016.
